The Corridor is thrilled to host 10 GARMENTS during London Fashion Week, an exhibition that unveils a dual display of show-stopping ensembles by the two award winning, innovative and experimental fashion designers from Japan, Akiko Murakami and Shunta Sakai.

AKIKO MURAKAMI
Akiko Murakami started to study fashion since she was a high school student and studied at Tokyo Mode Gakuen. For her talent and original style she was awarded a scholarship to study men's handcraft tailoring at London College of Fashion. Murakami aims at an evolution of fashion through her design world and so to open up people's minds. She has won awards and competitions with her designs and she is a singer in the Japanese rock band Plasticzooms.

SHUNTA SAKAI
Shunta Sakai studied fashion design at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo until 2008. He was awarded a scholarship to Instituto Marangoni at KOBE fashion competition, from which he graduated in June 2009 with an MA in fashion design. Sakai has won several other awards in Japan, his designs experiment with materials and fabric in order to create new kinds of garments.
